INDIA...People asked me why I would want to travel in India because it
is supposed to be so dirty and full of poverty. As I traveled from one
city to another and busing through small hamlets all I could see were people
living life. Yes, there was poverty and dirty streets but then you see
the colors of the women’s sarees, most people are open and friendly and ingenious people
using scraps to re-purpose them into something new.
When I encountered Indian tourist they loved being photographed. In turn, they wanted to put me in with their family
group for a photo for themselves.
I don’t say all was goodness and light and I am sure there were a lot of
things we never saw that may not have been pleasant. But the human spirit is there in strength. When I traveled there I had booked both a tour in northern India, the tourist triangle, and a tour in southern India. To go to India and not see the south, too, is missing a whole other and very different part of India.
